Job Title: Assistant News Director
KINT – Univision El Paso, an Entravision Communications property, is looking for a dynamic Assistant News Director/Assignments Desk Manager with a proven record of ratings success to help us to continue to dominate the El Paso news market. If you have great news judgment, a strong understanding of changing digital demands, and more creative energy than you know what to do with, this is the job for you. The Assistant News Director will oversee daily content gathering, enterprising stories and creative execution of content across multiple platforms.
The Assistant News Director/Assignments Desk Manager is responsible for the gathering, production and distribution of news content on multiple platforms. Will assist News Director with supervisory responsibility for all news broadcasts and online content. Involved in hiring and performance management of direct reports. Create tactics and strategies to increase demos performance in key target areas for multiple platforms. Ability to manage cross platform content creation and distribution. Write copy and edit scripts for air and web when needed. Knowledge of and proficiency in posting content on station websites. Schedule anchors and multi-media journalists. Lead coverage planning of major events, i.e. elections, special events. Proactively communicate news initiatives across departments. Evaluate workflow efficiencies. Assist News Director in managing the budgetary aspects of newsroom operations. Perform other duties as assigned. Bilingual English and Spanish. Advanced oral and written communication skills. Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office. Must have a broad understanding of newsroom operations and equipment. Have proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

Job Title: News Producer
Entravision has an opening for a News Producer. The News Producer is responsible for development and organization of the local Spanish-language newscasts including writing, story development and showcasing and will be responsible for overseeing the live broadcast and up to the minute editorial decisions. Candidate will work closely with the News Managers, Assignment Editors and Associate Producers to determine content needs.
Qualified candidates will be key in enhancing content of the rundown with graphics, video, research and station branding. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to; being able to write clearly for multiple platforms, posting content to station's websites, and being able to edit video for multiple platforms and understanding and utilization of web analytics.
Skills & Abilities:
Qualified candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication skills and must have a passion for great visual storytelling, should be excellent at writing a tease and should be able to write clearly for Television broadcasts. Candidate should be an energetic, experienced journalist who works well in an often fast paced, deadline oriented environment. Strong written, organization, communication and writing skills are a must as is a keen editorial judgment and ability to handle breaking news. Candidates must have knowledge of and demonstrate creative skills, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws. Should have experience with posting news content to station web sites. The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task in a dynamic, high pressure, deadline and content driven and technology-intensive environment. Must have solid social media experience and be well connected. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and the internet. Candidate MUST be able to read, write and speak Spanish fluently. Must be able to work Holidays as needed and the necessary hours to perform the duties as outlined above.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or a related field, or equivalent training and/or experience. Candidates should also must have 3 or more years experience in a Producer role within a true newsroom, non-college station. Live shot experience a must. Demonstrated experience as an Associate Producer preferred. Familiarity with I-news is a plus.
