    Job Description/Responsibilities:

    This position requires a fully bi-lingual individual who is energetic and possesses the ability to multi-task and is pro-active with their assigned duties in the Promotions Department. Candidates should be eager to learn and take on responsibilities and be accountable for their outcomes. Individuals should be outgoing and professional as the position consists of interactions between departments at our Laredo station as well as contact with clients and viewers through local remotes and events. Responsibilities consist of creating and implementing station marketing and promotional strategies for online and event opportunities. Write contest rules and coordinate with Legal department for approval prior to promotional execution. For promotions that require remote live shots, coordinate with Engineering and Production for all technical support and requirements for promotions and with News for talent. Develop and maintain Station Social Media, Mobile and Online strategies in order to grow audience participation. Work with Sales and Production to provide creative solutions for client campaigns. Assist in local spot production of promotional announcements and or script writing, assisting talent for live local remotes/events with setup and tear down of tents, distribution of prizes to viewers. Provide monthly promotional calendar, and timely recaps of all station events, appearances and market activity. Coordinate with Sales and Business Operations budgets for promotions and events and manage and stay within budget parameters. Work with local vendors and secure any/all necessary agreements for station events and promotional material. Monitor and maintain the stations websites on a daily basis. Provide reports on department activity at weekly managers meeting. Assist with client and station video recaps and presentations. Create promotional templates, presentation and contracts. Responsible for coordinating Public Service Announcements schedule, filing requirements, and entering the orders. Fulfill other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements/Qualifications:

    College degree in marketing, advertising, or related field or equivalent work experience. The position requires people who possess some computer skills with a Windows PC environment including MS Office, a reliable selfstarter who learns quickly and has good communication skills, and a high level of organization and time management skills with attention to detail. Should be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Strong English/Spanish written and verbal communications skills a must. They must have a current valid Texas driver’s license and ability to work a flexible schedule that may occasionally include weekends, nights, or holidays. The most important requirement is that you must be passionate about engaging the community in our station initiatives and our news content.
